Arm Knitting November 24, 2017 Share 1 Tweet Pin 17 You don’t have to know anything about knitting to make a beautiful arm knit scarf! Here is part one of this how to arm knit step by step tutorial. You’ll only need about an hour of time, a little practice, and of course, your two arms. I’ve found the best results in using two strands of bulky yarn at the same time. Here are a few of the bulky weight yarns I recommend: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Lion Brand Hometown USA more bulky yarn options You’ll need two skeins of bulky yarn at approximately 100 yards each. Arm Knit Infinity Scarf Cowl Measurements The infinity scarf/cowl is the best project to start when learning how to arm knit. Your finished scarf/cowl will measure approximately 60″ long (before joining) and 12″ wide. How to Arm Knit Instructions: Part 3 Step 1: Put the tail on the side and grab the working yarn (strand attached to the skein) with your right hand which has the loops on it. Wrap the yarn around the front of your thumb from the bottom up and fold your hand around it to form a fist. Step 2: With your left hand, pull the first stitch on your right wrist over your fist which is holding the working yarn. Step 3: Drop the stitch you pulled off with your left hand and slip your left hand through the working yarn in your right hand. Pull tight, but loose enough to slide on your wrist. You have now created the first stitch of row 2. - Swipe left/right to see more Step 4: Repeat until everything is transferred to your left arm.
